Situated in the historic port city of Saint John, New Brunswick, East Point Shopping is located in the province’s largest urban population center and adjacent to the province’s busiest highway, an hour northeast of the Maine-New Brunswick border. Saint John is New Brunswick’s number one tourist destination and is emerging as the region’s energy hub. The city boasts the largest single retail concentration in Atlantic Canada.
Carved into Saint John’s bedrock, East Point combines shopping, hospitality and entertainment in an outdoor setting. Shoppers are drawn to the city’s first open-air center incorporating lifestyle components – a massive eighty-acre site that is quickly becoming New Brunswick’s retail showcase. Shoppers are greeted with tastefully crafted marquee signage and specially designed lighting that helps to create a wonderful Main Street feel with treed islands, wide “Arizona-style” sidewalks, park benches and planters.
East Point Shopping currently has over 80 acres of land under active building development. Anchored by the Costco Wholesale warehouse, the development is home to fashion retail stores, hospitality and business services including Home Depot, Fairweather, Sally Beauty, Indigo Books & Music, International Clothiers, Le Château, Montana’s, Moores, Mr. Big & Tall, Nakai Spa, Pseudio, Roots 73, Starbucks, TD Canada Trust, Tip Top Tailors,Tweed & Hickory, Urban Planet, Wok Box and a Hampton Inn and Suites Hotel by Hilton. The total building area developed to date is nearly 450,000 square feet, with the eventual site build out expected to reach over 700,000 square feet of retail, hospitality and service establishments.
People packed the premises for the Grand Opening of Costco last year on May 27, 2010, and the parking lot still remains full to overflowing.
Excellent building locations are still available in both the currently serviced development section as well as in the property area now being prepared for building construction.
